FAQ

Q. What type of exercises are performed at Bootcamp?
A. While some of our exercises are standards of Bootcamp style training, like push-ups or jumping jacks, the bulk of our classes use a variety of standing and sitting exercises from different exercise modalities. Depending on the time of year, expect your fitness experience with us to include elements of the outdoor environment. We strive to get off the beaten path, using park trails, fallen logs and natural terrain to ramp up the variety of our outdoor workout format.

Q. What should I bring with me to participate at Bootcamp?
A. To be most effective at Bootcamp, you will need a basic yoga mat, 5lb dumbells, a bottle of water and a towel.

Q. I want to run a marathon and/or increase my marathon time, will it help to include your Bootcamp fitness program into my training?
A. Absolutely yes! The interval style training we use in our program is an excellent way to crosstrain for cardio endurance while building muscle necessary to support the knee joints during heightened activity.

Q. I do not like to run. Do I have to run to participate in Bootcamp?
A. Running in our Bootcamp program is completely optional. Whichever you choose, we created our program specifically to be effective for runners or walkers with running/walking comprising about 1/4 of our daily workout.

Q. It is getting close to the start date for the Bootcamp Session I would like to attend. Are there places still available?
A. If a session is full, we will mark that session as "SOLD OUT" on our online Calendar. If you do not see this, there are still spaces available.

Q. I am very over weight, will your program work for me?
A. While there are exceptions, our program works best for those who are 50 pounds or less above the healthy weight for their height and age. If your weight has created chronic pain in your knees, ankles or lower back, our program may not be a good fit for you. If you are unclear about your current fitness abilities, take our FitTest on the registration page to ensure you meet the basic criteria.

Q. On a scale of 1-5 my fitness level is a 5. Will I get a good workout?
A. Yes! While our program is designed for all fitness levels to excel beyond their current experience, for fitness levels 4 and above we take this one step further, working with you to quickly identify fitness "weak spots". Once identified, we target those areas with challenging modifications to each days program. If you have questions regarding workouts and their effectiveness, please call us directly at 206-852-4427. We'd love to discuss your goals with you.

Q. On a scale of 1-5 my fitness level is a 1. Will I be able to perform the workouts without getting left behind?
A. Yes! Our program is a go-at-your-own-pace process which allows lower fitness levels to increase their cardio and strength capacity safely and effectively. You will be challenged, but never forced beyond your capability. If you are unsure of your current physical ability, take our FitTest on the registration page.

Q. Is there anyone who should not join your program?
A. While our program is well suited for most, it does require a basic level of good health and physical mobility. Those with chronic illness, ongoing back problems or knee and ankle issues stemming from serious injury or strain, may not be a good fit for our program regardless of previous fitness achievement. Because we take the safety and fitness success of our participants seriously, on rare occasions we do regret to decline enrollment due to the reasons outlined above.
